There are many work at home business opportunities available on the internet today. Some are easier than others. The simplest ways of making money online are from the following:

	affiliate marketing
	Google AdSense
	Google AdWords
	selling on auction sites
	selling your own product
	taking surveys
	various paid to read or paid to click programs

Affiliate marketing

In it's simplest form affiliate marketing means promoting a product to make money. There are various ways of achieving this whether it be through your own website, by telling your friends about a great product you have found or sending emails to friends and family. There are many systems available to teach you how to get started making money in affiliate marketing.

A more formal definition : Affiliate Marketing is a widespread method of promoting a website, in which an affiliate is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber and/or customer provided through his efforts. It is a modern variation of the practice of paying finder's-fees to individuals who introduce new clients to a business.

 Google AdSense

You have all been to websites where you see the Ads by Google boxes. They provide website owners with a way of making extra money when a visitor clicks on the link in the ad box.

A more formal definition : AdSense is an advertising program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text and image advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on a per-click basis. Google utilizes its search technology to serve ads based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted ad system may sign up through AdWords.

Google AdWords are the ads you see on the Google website when you search the internet for information. Advertisers pay to have their ads appear with certain words.

A more formal definition : A Pay Per Click (PPC) program of advertising on Google. The ads appear on the right hand side of the Google Search page on keywords / key phrases that you choose.

Many people earn lucrative incomes selling on auction sites either with traditional auctions or with products that they sell for a set price in their own online shops. There are many ways of sourcing the products. Some are digital products that require no inventory, some are products purchased from online wholesalers and sold with a markup, some use dropship suppliers (suppliers who deliver straight to the purchaser) and still others sell their own products.

If you have your own product that you wish to sell, you could use any of the above marketing methods either alone or in combination with each other. If your product is worthwhile, who knows, you could become the next online millionaire.

 Taking surveys

There are literally hundreds of survey sites on the internet. The surveys offered range from very short 5-10 minute surveys to in depth focus groups that may take several hours. Generally the surveys are conducted online, but some companies conduct phone or face-to-face surveys as well. There are a range of payments options, usually with a minimum balance required before payment can be made. Some sites offer incentives rather than cash payments. These incentives may be in the form of reward points, lucky prize draws or free offers.

Other ways to make money

There are other ways of making money online, but most are not for the faint-hearted or unskilled. Data entry, network marketing, forced matrix system and high yield investment programs have all reported good returns for some users. Many others swear by stock market trading and horse racing systems. As yet I am unprepared to add these to my list of successful enterprises.
