Where do I begin ?

Starting at the start would probably be a pretty good idea for most, but in this case that’s waaaaay tooo long ago. I’m going to take you back to April of 2007 instead.

Like thousands of others, I had been looking for a way to make money on the internet with various for years. Nothing had worked. Well, not to any large degree anyway. I had made little bits here and there from the odd thing that I had tried, but nothing serious. I don’t really think I had the dedication to make it work back then either, but that’s another story.

I was surfing the net, as I often did, reading sales letter after sales letter. Wading through the hype as we have all done hundreds, if not thousands of times. I saw a little ad banner flashing, I can’t even remember now where it was. I clicked on the banner and it took me to a flashy red, white and blue website with a photo of a guy with a wad of cash in his hand. He was peeking out cheekily from behind the fanned out money, almost daring me to try and take it. This website was called The .

Now before you all jump up in arms, screaming scam, scam, let me explain. I was a t a point of desperation. I had tried many other methods of , none of which had worked. So I read this website from front to back. And then I did it again. It was three a.m. and I went to bed because I was incredibly tired. But once I got there I couldn’t sleep. I kept seeing this guy with the fanned out money. so I went back searched the big G to see what I could find.

Most of the info was remarkably positive. There were the odd few items that I found bagging this guy, but there were a lot of good reviews that said a lot of good things. On top of that he lived in Australia, which was a bonus for me. I’d heard of The Rich Jerk and had considered buying that program, but the one thing that concerned me was that he was in the States.

After mulling it over for another couple of days, I decided to take the plunge and bought The ’s program. Once again it was about three a.m. and I had been searching everywhere trying to find absolute proof that it was a scam. I couldn’t find anything that sounded like it was genuine. Most of the bad reports (and remember at that stage there were only a handful) sounded like pure flame throwing or sour grapes. People who had bought something, expecting it to be the next “big secret” that would make them money without lifting a finger. All the big names in marketing employ this tactic of “find out my secret and get it now before it’s gone.” Quite frankly, I’m sick of it and the net seems to be overrun with hype filled marketing sales letters.

Let me tell you folks, there is no such beast as a “magic formula”, just sound marketing practices and that applies to whatever you choose to do. Whatever method you choose to make money online you WILL without a doubt need to do some work, especially in the early days. If you build solid foundations, you can pave the way to many good passive income streams.

The Rich Pom

Anyway, back to the . I downloaded “the document” as it is referred to and discovered that it was a guide to . I already knew a lot of the information that was included, but what I learnt from this document was how to put it all together and make sense of the different elements involved in starting out in the world of online marketing.

It is not just as simple as slap up a website and hope for the best. During the whole process, I have continued to learn. partly from the information contained in The ’s ebook and also from many other worthwhile sources. Many people don’t like his brash and often arrogant approach, but his after sales support is very good. He is very accessible, either through the forum he has set up to help beginners or via email.

He recommends many other very good products to help on the road to success and for some these may be too costly to begin with, but there are always other options available. His information is sound, and yes a lot of it is freely available elsewhere, but putting the pieces of the puzzle together is where many struggle. Following this guide can help you to make sense of the maze, from registering a domain, to setting up a website, right through to marketing, building traffic and search engine optimisation.

A complete and total newbie may struggle to start with, but the forums can be a very useful source of information. For the more experienced, the information may be a little too basic. I have found The to be a useful source for myself, but it may not suit everybody.
